Hello Resident,
We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage this week.
Reported Crime and Appeals
Report of a vehicle theft from Crownhill Road at around 05:30 on the morning of the 7th of June. An Audi Q7 was taken when suspects have forced open the rear door of the property to get vehicle keys. We have completed some extensive work in the area but if you live on Herald Way, Crownhill Road area, please take a look at your CCTV for any suspicious vehicles or activity around this time. If you have anything of interest, please pop me an email to Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk 26000330325
Since our last report on the 4th, we have received 28 calls to Police. 8 were emergency calls. Several of these calls were concerns for safety.
Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
We have been completing high visibility patrols over the weekend and into this week in areas such as Church Street/Pilgrims Gate due to concerns of vehicle related nuisance and anti-social behaviour.
We have also been patrolling areas where vehicle crime may be of concern, as well as local parks, Brookside and the train station area.
We have completed visits as requested to the Kids Planet nursery on Hinckley Road where we discussed road safety and personal safety. The kids had lots of fun with the Police uniform and Burbage Police bear. Always a pleasure to visit these types of locations.
We also attended the Burbage Congregational Church on Church Street for their fete. Due to the rain, the event was held indoors but it was a really good event where we supported residents with crime prevention items and spoke to residents around local concerns. Concerns discussed were mainly around vehicle crime and residential burglary.
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
Following a couple of vehicle thefts over the last week in Burbage, where patio/back doors have been forced or smashed to get keys, please consider vibration window alarms, fence cactus spikes and measures such as outdoor lighting, steering locks, CCTV and house alarms. Please see the attached catalogue for items and cost (sold at cost). Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk
Vehicles targeted tend to be high end or high-performance vehicles so please consider blocking them in on your drive if you have several vehicles. Driveway bollards are also very useful.
We are holding our next beat surgery at the SPAR on Lutterworth Road on Tuesday 16th of June where I will hopefully be accompanied by a representative from the RCC, Neighbourhood mental health team. Please pop by and have a chat. We will be there from around 15:00-16:30. “Drop-in support for when you are struggling”.
We will also be in attendance at the Burbage Big Summer Bash (as below image). We will have our range of crime reduction items, so please pop by and have a chat. Sunday 28th June 2026, 12:00-17:00
Thank you and take care.
